Finished reading American Gods. It was good.

City of Cairns is in the editing process, and I've started laying out the next story. In addition, I'm making progress on a travelogue of a trip I took at the beginning of the year.

Finished the first draft of Navance #3, which will be titled the City of Cairns. Been struggling with this one for a while, so it feels good to have it done. Next up will be editing.

Going to knock out a couple short stories before starting on the next Navance.

Spent a few hours at the Mercantile Library getting some words in.

I also finished reading the Guns of Avalon by Roger Zelazny today. The Amber books aren't very long individually, and they move quick. The pacing of them is impressive.

Some history today: It's the 100th Anniversary of the United States entrance into World War I. Although overshadowed by war that followed, in many ways WWI has shaped the world we're living in.

Getting back in the saddle

Need to do better about keeping up with the blog. So what have I been up to?

Took a four week road trip across the country. Working on a travelogue now.

Rewriting the 3rd Navance Story. Rewriting is harder than writing.

Joined the Mercantile Library to have a place to write. I like it there.

I've been reading more since I started setting time aside each day. If you make something a priority, it tends to happen. Last three books read: Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Nine Princes in Amber by Roger Zelazny, and So Long, See You Tomorrow by William Maxwell. 

Finished five short stories in the last week. In the editing stage now, but it feels nice to complete something, even if the stories are only a couple thousand words.

Moving forward, I plan to do a blog post a day; what I'm reading and the project I worked on that day.
